Shake up your life: how my mindset on finances changed

Updated: Dec 16, 2025

The Prophesy that changed my life

It was early October 2015, and a minister prophesied a 2-part prophesy to me.

PART 1 - And I quote, "if you do not already have a daughter, you will conceive a daughter before the end of the month." At this time, I did not realize I was already 1-week pregnant with my daughter until I took the pregnancy test a week later realizing something about my body was off when I went to the kitchen to grab my usual energy drink in the morning but instead grabbed a granola bar. This minor change would not prompt most people to take a pregnancy test, but I couldn't help but think of what that prophet told me. And sure enough... we're having a baby!

It bears mentioning that my mom is also a prophet of God and the month prior told me I would conceive a daughter before the end of the year. I was just one of the many prophesies she has given women about conceiving children and getting married.

PART 2 - And I quote, "You will have a financial business that will help people all over the world better manage their money and what you think is small now will make you a multi-millionaire.

Part 1 of the Prophesy came true, Part 2 began taking shape

As my little one, yes a girl, began to take form, my marriage also began to lose form. Although we both wanted a daughter, we were not doing a great job managing preparing our relationship and household for her. One day, God spoke to me and told me to look up ministers by the names of Pastor Jimmy and Karen Evans. I noticed that this ministry was geared towards helping people improve their marriages and thought this is perfect! God is going to show me how to help my marriage. The first video I landed on was about finances. Shortly after, The Holy Spirit began speaking to me daily about practical changes we needed to make in our household finances to be better prepared for the baby and be an overall stronger family unit. I shared this information with my daughter's father (husband at the time). And although he said he was on board, his actions showed differently. This is not a bashing session fathers, so I will move on from here.

Terrible Dream

Fast forward as baby girl is growing, I had a terrible dream that I was fighting 3 different demons: 1 in my marriage, 2 in my finances, and 3 in my health.

Good news is I won each battle!

I still chose to obey God's voice

During those 9 (or 10) months, although my husband was not on board with the drastic changes I wanted us to make in our finances based on the vision God gave me to handle our money better, I still did my best to SAVE SAVE SAVE as much as I could and got the house in order to prepare for our little one. And when she finally arrived, all the preparation and changes I made in my finances were worth it.

The Dream (Nightmare) came true!

Later down the road when baby girl was approaching her 1st birthday, that's when the dream (or what some might say was a nightmare) began to come true. I began going through a divorce, left with over $200,000 in student loan and credit card debt from legal fees along with having a mortgage and other debts. Some years later I dealt with some health challenges that are no longer an issue. By the Grace of God, I have overcome all of this, and my health and finances are doing well. My coparenting with my daughter's father is going well with compromises, communication, understanding, and grace.

Part 2 of the Prophesy is coming to past... Most Valuable Lesson

And my finances have improved tremendously! Check out my "Who is Tiffany Chanell" section on my home page for more details : )

The most valuable lesson I've learned in what has been a trying the most trying times of my life is that despite all that you go through in life, YOU HAVE FORTITUDE. And trust that if God leads you to it, He will successfully guide you through it! God did not lead me to a divorce nor bad health nor financial stressors. But He did show me that I would have to go through some things in my marriage, health, and finances but that He had already given me the Victory!

All I had to do was be obedient and trust Him.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."

Proverbs 3:5-6

Understand this... "... In the world we will have tribulations,

but we can be of good cheer for God has overcome the world!"

John 16:33
